# Setting and changing your default model

> Learn how Agent 1.0's default model (video, image, and more) is set, and how to change it on web and app.

Carat **Agent 1.0** generates content using the **default model** saved to your account. When you request a video or image without naming a model, this default model is used and credits are deducted accordingly.

## How is the default model set?

* On a **free account**, the default video model is set to **Carat Video (LTX)**.
* When you **subscribe to a plan, the onboarding flow lets you choose the video model you want as your default.** Your choice is saved as Agent 1.0's default model and applies to every later request until you change it.

  The default model you pick during onboarding applies to **Agent 1.0**. Agent 2.0 works differently. It recommends and uses high-performance, high-value models first (such as Seedance 2.0 Fast). To use a specific model in Agent 2.0, name it in your request. See [What is the 'Carat Video' model?](/docs/en/troubleshooting/agent-2/use-carat-video-model) for details.

## How to change your default model

You can change Agent 1.0's default model anytime in settings. Default models are split into three types: **video model**, **image model**, and **agent model**.

    3. Choose \[Video Model(영상 모델)], \[Image Model(이미지 모델)], or \[Agent Model(에이전트 모델)], then switch to the model you want.

    3. Choose \[Video Model(영상 모델)], \[Image Model(이미지 모델)], or \[Agent Model(에이전트 모델)], then switch to the model you want.

  Credits deducted per generation vary by model. If your default video model is a third-party model like Seedance, it deducts more credits. To save credits, we recommend keeping your default video model set to **Carat Video (LTX)**. It's the most affordable option and is covered by the video unlimited benefit on Premium / Max / Pro plans. The video unlimited benefit applies to video generation. Conversations with the agent use credits separately, so if you run low on credits, use Agent 1.0(에이전트 1.0) or top up.

## Want a different model each time?
