# Copyright & commercial use

> Learn about copyright and commercial use of AI generations (text, images, videos, audio, emoticons, stickers, songs, etc.).

All content generated with Carat AI **can be freely used for commercial purposes.**

<Accordion title="Examples of commercially usable content">
  * **Text**: Articles, blog posts, novels, scripts, copywriting, etc.
  * **Images**: Illustrations, emoticons, stickers, characters, logo designs, AI profile photos, etc.
  * **Videos**: Short-form content, music videos, advertisement videos, etc.
  * **Audio**: Songs, music, sound effects, narration, etc.
</Accordion>

However, there are some important points to consider regarding copyright and use of generated content.

## AI generations and copyright

Currently, most countries including South Korea do not recognize copyright for content automatically generated by AI. This is because copyright law defines copyrighted works as "creative expressions of human thoughts or emotions."

<Info>
  **When copyright is recognized**

  Copyright may be recognized for portions where the user has added **additional creative work such as editing, arrangement, or composition** to AI-generated content.
</Info>

## Precautions for use

The most important thing is to ensure that the generation process does not infringe on others' copyrights, trademarks, or portrait rights.

<Warning>
  **Celebrities, characters, brands**

  Using famous people's faces, well-known characters (e.g., Disney, Marvel), or specific brand logos for commercial purposes without permission from the rights holders may result in legal issues.
</Warning>

<Warning>
  **Final responsibility**

  The final responsibility for ensuring that generated content complies with relevant laws and does not infringe on others' rights lies with the user.
</Warning>

<Tip>
  Laws regarding AI and copyright are continuously evolving, so we recommend seeking professional legal advice for important commercial uses.
