# Credits

> Learn what 'Credits' are, how they're deducted, and how to manage them.

## What are credits?

Credits are consumed when using features like chat, image, video, and audio generation in Carat AI. Credits are deducted from your balance each time you use a feature.

## Checking credits

* **App**: Bottom \[Profile(프로필)] → Top right \[Menu(메뉴)] (☰) → \[My Credits(내 크레딧)]
* **Website**: Bottom left \[Account nickname(계정 닉네임)]\(on mobile web, open the top-left \[Menu(메뉴)] (☰) first) → \[Settings(설정)] → \[My Credits(내 크레딧)]

## Credits screen details

You can transparently check your balance status in the following ways:

* **Multi status bar**: Separate status bars are created for subscription plans, top-ups, and free credits, allowing you to see the remaining amount and individual expiration dates at a glance.
* **Daily free credits**: Only activated when you have exhausted all paid/promotional credits.
* **Benefit information**: You can check the currently applied promotional benefits in the \[Benefits in use(혜택 사용중)] section at the bottom of the screen.

## Credits deduction criteria

Credits are deducted differently depending on the type of task and **the AI model used**. Videos require more credits than images, and high-performance video models like Veo3 require more credits than the Carat Video (LTX) model.

### Check credits per model

You can check the **credits deducted per generation** for each model before requesting it.

* **App**: \[Home(홈)] → Tap the \[Sparkle icon(반짝이 아이콘)] (✨) at the bottom-left of the chat → Select a model → View the per-generation credits on the detail screen.
* **Web**: Click the \[Sparkle icon(반짝이 아이콘)] (✨) at the bottom-left of the chat → Select a model → View the per-generation credits on the detail screen.

  The credits shown are based on the default options. Setting a higher count, resolution, or video length than the default will deduct more credits.

## Credits expiration and deduction order

Credits are consumed in order of shortest expiration date. If you have paid/promotional credits, they will be consumed in order of shortest expiration date, and daily free credits will be provided when all is exhausted.

* **Subscribers/Top-ups**: Subscription credits and top-ups are each valid for **1 month from the recharge date**.
* **Daily free credits**: Recharged on a daily basis, and remaining credits do not carry over and expire.

  Expired credits are automatically forfeited and difficult to recover. Please check the 'Credits expiration date' on the screen.

## Credits history

You can view detailed credits history to see when, which features, and how much you used.

### How to access

* **App**: Bottom \[Profile(프로필)] → Top right \[Menu(메뉴)] (☰) → \[My Credits(내 크레딧)] → Top right \[…] → \[Credits History(사용 내역)]
* **Website**: Bottom left sidebar \[Account nickname(계정 닉네임)]\(on mobile web, open the top-left \[Menu(메뉴)] (☰) first) → \[Settings(설정)] → \[My Credits(내 크레딧)] → Top right \[Subscription & Usage(구독•사용 관리)] → \[Credits History(사용 내역)]

## When you run out of credits

#### Free users

* On the [upgrade page](https://carat.im/en/upgrade), use **credit top-up** or **upgrade to a subscription plan** to keep using Carat right away.
* Or, **watch an ad or tap a button to earn random credits** instantly.

#### Subscribers

* You can purchase **top-ups**. There is no limit on the number of top-ups, and you can use them anytime, regardless of your current subscription plan.
* If you regularly need more credits, **upgrade to a higher plan** on the [upgrade page](https://carat.im/en/upgrade).

## Random credits

When free users run out of daily free credits, you can **earn random credits by watching an ad or tapping a button**.

* **How to earn**: When credits are exhausted, watch the displayed ad or tap the button to receive random credits.
* **Validity**: Earned random credits are **valid for 3 days**.
* **How to check**: You can view your earned random credits in \[My Credits(내 크레딧)].
  * **App**: Bottom \[Profile(프로필)] → Top right \[Menu(메뉴)] (☰) → \[My Credits(내 크레딧)]
  * **Website**: Bottom left \[Account nickname(계정 닉네임)] → \[Settings(설정)] → \[My Credits(내 크레딧)]

## Daily lucky credits

Paid subscribers receive **daily lucky credits** benefits.

* **How to receive**: Click the 'Get today's lucky credits' banner that appears when starting a new chat on web or accessing home on app.
* **Reset time**: Daily at 9 AM KST (UTC 00:00)
* **Validity**: 24 hours after receiving
