# What are random credits and how do I get them?

Random credits are a feature that allows free users to **earn additional credits instantly by watching an ad or tapping a button** when daily free credits are exhausted.

  Random credits are an ad-reward credit for **free users**, and are different from **lucky credits**, the gift benefit for paid subscribers. For lucky credits, see [Daily lucky credit gift](/docs/en/troubleshooting/usage-plan/lucky-credit).

### How to earn

When you run out of free credits, you can receive random credits by **watching an ad or tapping a button**.

  **Where do the ads appear?**

  There is no separate ads page. Once your daily free credits are fully used up, the ad or button prompt appears **automatically in the chat screen when you send a new request**. If you don't see the prompt, you may still have credits left — check your balance in \[My Credits(내 크레딧)] first.

### Validity

Earned random credits are **valid for 3 days**. Random credits that have expired are automatically forfeited.

### How to check random credits

You can view your earned random credits in \[My Credits(내 크레딧)].

* **App:** Bottom \[Profile(프로필)] → Top right \[Menu(메뉴)] (☰) → \[My Credits(내 크레딧)]
* **Website:** Bottom left \[Account nickname(계정 닉네임)]\(on mobile web, open the top-left \[Menu(메뉴)] (☰) first) → \[Settings(설정)] → \[My Credits(내 크레딧)]

### Can be used alongside other options

If you need more credits, you can also use **credit top-up** or **upgrade to a subscription plan** on the [upgrade page](https://carat.im/en/upgrade). Top-ups have no limit on the number of times, and subscription plans offer large monthly credits and access to advanced features.
