OpenAI's Sam Altman, Anthropic's Dario Amodei, and Google DeepMind's Demis Hassabis joined Trump for lunch at the G7 summit. It was a closed-door gathering of the three people leading AI's frontrunners, plus about a dozen tech executives, and Altman reportedly sat next to Trump and spoke first.
The big topic was how to govern AI together. Amodei and Hassabis pitched a US-led international forum where democratic countries set shared standards for advanced AI models. They talked about how to give access to frontier models, how to cooperate on key components, and how to handle AI safety risks together.

1️⃣ GPT-5.4 improved a real drug reaction on its own?
OpenAI shared a case where GPT-5.4 helped run a drug discovery project end to end. Paired with the autonomous lab of molecule design company Molecule.one, the model proposed a better way to run a reaction widely used in making drugs. Human chemists reproduced 11 of the 14 results by hand, and 8 of them more than doubled the yield.
2️⃣ Google's NotebookLM wants to learn your taste
Two features look like they're coming soon to Google's AI note tool, NotebookLM. One is Personal Preferences, which learns your taste from past chats and work to tailor its answers. The other is AI Editing, which lets you ask the AI to write your note for you. They're not out yet, with only hints showing up in the interface.
3️⃣ Grok Imagine got 2x faster at making videos
Elon Musk's xAI just dropped a new version of its video tool, Grok Imagine 1.5 Fast. A 720p video now takes about 25 seconds, down from 40+, and the quality is better too. In the demo, dropping in a few product photos turned them into a full ad campaign video.
