Restrictions on generating celebrities and specific individuals
Generating images of real celebrities (actors, singers, politicians, etc.) may be restricted to protect portrait rights and publicity rights. Unauthorized generation and use may result in legal issues.
Distinguish real people from fictional characters
A fictional character from a game, animation, or film is different from a real actor or celebrity. A character name alone does not establish that a request was rejected because of a real person’s likeness rights. If the request also specifies an actor’s actual appearance or a reference image, consider that information separately.
The warning above describes a possible restriction on real-person images. It does not mean that Carat bans every celebrity or character name, or that every model permits those requests. Check the model’s policy and the actual error notice. A generic content-policy error does not establish that a name, copyright, or likeness rights caused a particular rejection.
Alternatives you can try
A rejection by one image model does not establish that every Carat image model prohibits the request or that access to the entire generator is temporarily restricted. Models can differ in their content policies and how they interpret a request, so trying another image model is a valid option.
You can try these ways to describe the scene:
- Describe appearance, clothing, pose, and background: Explain the image you want rather than relying on a name alone. For example, “a female character with a short black bob and red clothing, standing and looking at the camera.” For combat scenes, reduce detailed depictions of attacks or bodily injury and focus on the standoff, movement, lighting, and tension.
- Use a reference image: Choose a model that accepts images, provide a reference you have permission to use, and describe the changes you want to the pose or background.
- Try another image model: Check the credit cost and whether unlimited generation applies before submitting a request with the new model.
These options must stay within each model’s content policy. If a current generator restriction notice is displayed, wait until its end time first. Changing models, opening a new chat, or buying credits cannot lift a restriction on the entire generator. If the notice is unclear, check its wording while explaining model-specific alternatives conditionally.
Do not assume that removing a name, changing wording, or adding “cinematic” or “movie-like” increases the chance of passing a policy check. Describing a scene more clearly is different from passing that check. Reference images and model changes do not guarantee successful generation either.
