The safest way to communicate with users you meet on Carat is to stay within Carat. If another user tries to move the conversation to an external messenger, please tell them you prefer to communicate through Carat comments. Be cautious if someone:
  • Asks for your external messenger ID (such as WhatsApp, Instagram, etc.)
  • Requests your phone number
If another user tries to collect unnecessary personal information, never comply and please report them. Watch out for requests such as:
  • Asking for face photos for reasons like “photo collaboration”
  • Requesting personal information like name, age, or address
  • Asking for passwords to external service accounts, bank accounts, or cards
  • Requesting verification codes sent via text or payments through external sites
To prevent further harm, please actively report any users engaging in these behaviors.
