Learn about free-account Lite, Auto, direct conversation model selection, access conditions, and the difference from generation models.
Carat lets you choose a conversation model from families such as GPT, Claude, Gemini, and Grok, or let Carat 2.0 (Auto) choose for the task. Free accounts chat with Carat 2.0 Lite; selecting another model may open a subscription page.
A conversation model for free accounts only. It is not offered to paid subscribers.
Carat 2.0 (Auto)
If your account can use Auto, choose it when you are unsure which model to pick. It applies a suitable, up-to-date AI model for each task.
Choose GPT, Claude, Gemini, Grok, or another model
Eligible accounts can select a conversation model directly. Examples include GPT-6 and Claude Opus 5.5.
The supported models can change. Check the conversation model menu in your account for the current list and availability.
A model appearing in the list does not mean it is free to use. If selecting it opens a subscription page, your current plan does not provide access to that model. Free accounts can continue with Carat 2.0 Lite.
On the web, click the current conversation model name in the chat input area, such as [Carat 2.0 Lite(캐럿 2.0 Lite)], and choose an available model. If you are unsure, select [Carat 2.0 (Auto)(캐럿 2.0 (Auto))]. Auto is also subject to your account’s access conditions.Names and screens may differ by app version or account. These steps describe the current website. If you do not see the same menu in the app, open Carat on the web with the same account to check.
Conversation models and generation models are separate
A conversation model, such as GPT or Claude, interprets your request and handles replies and tasks. A generation model produces images, video, or audio. Choosing GPT for conversation does not lock image generation to ChatGPT Image.See Model selection to specify a generation model. To choose a model and its options without a conversation, use the Generator(생성기).
Both Auto and directly selected conversation models use credits for conversation. Image and video unlimited benefits do not cover these conversation credits. Usage varies with the model and request. See AI agent conversation credits for details.
