What are credits?

Credits are consumed when using features like chat, image, video, and audio generation in Carat AI. Credits are deducted from your balance each time you use a feature.

Credits screen details

You can transparently check your balance status in the following ways:
  • [Multi status bar(멀티 상태 바)]: Separate status bars are created for subscription plans, top-ups, and free credits, allowing you to see the remaining amount and individual expiration dates at a glance.
  • [Daily free credits(오늘 무료 크레딧)]: Granted when your total credit balance is under 100 credits and at least 24 hours have passed since your last grant, the next time you open the app or website. Subscription credits, top-up credits, lucky credits, and random credits all count toward that total. This benefit is plan-agnostic, so paid subscribers are eligible too. They simply receive none while subscription credits keep the total at 100 credits or more.
  • Benefit information: You can check the currently applied promotional benefits in the [Active benefits(받고 있는 혜택)] section at the bottom of the screen.

Credits deduction criteria

Credits are deducted differently depending on the type of task and the AI model used. Videos require more credits than images, and high-performance video models like Veo3 require more credits than the Carat Video (LTX) model.

Check credits per model

You can check the credits deducted per generation for each model before requesting it.
  • App: [Home(홈)] → Tap the [Sparkle icon(반짝이 아이콘)] (✨) at the bottom-left of the chat → Select a model → View the per-generation credits on the detail screen.
  • Web: Click the [Sparkle icon(반짝이 아이콘)] (✨) at the bottom-left of the chat → Select a model → View the per-generation credits on the detail screen.
The credits shown are based on the default options. Setting a higher count, resolution, or video length than the default will deduct more credits.

Credits expiration and deduction order

Credits are consumed in order of shortest expiration date. If you have paid/promotional credits, they will be consumed in order of shortest expiration date.
  • Subscribers/Top-ups: Subscription credits and top-ups are each valid for 1 month from the recharge date.
  • Daily free credits: Expire 24 hours after they were granted and do not carry over. New ones are granted the next time you open the app or website, as long as your total credit balance is under 100 credits. They don’t reset at midnight or at any fixed hour, and the grant time differs from user to user.
Expired credits are automatically forfeited and difficult to recover. Please check the ‘Credits expiration date’ on the screen.

When you run out of credits

Free users

  • On the upgrade page, use credit top-up or upgrade to a subscription plan to keep using Carat right away.
  • Or, watch an ad or tap a button to earn random credits instantly.

Subscribers

  • You can purchase top-ups. There is no limit on the number of top-ups, and you can use them anytime, regardless of your current subscription plan.
  • If you regularly need more credits, upgrade to a higher plan on the upgrade page.

Random credits

When free users run out of daily free credits, you can earn random credits by watching an ad or tapping a button.
  • How to earn: When credits are exhausted, watch the displayed ad or tap the button to receive random credits.
  • Validity: Earned random credits are valid for 3 days.
  • Relationship to daily free credits: Random credits count toward your total credit balance. Once that total reaches 100 credits or more, no daily free credits are granted until you spend them down.
  • How to check: You can view your earned random credits in [My Credits(내 크레딧)].

Daily lucky credits

Paid subscribers receive daily lucky credits benefits.
  • How to receive: On the app, tap the [Gift box icon(선물상자 아이콘)] at the top right of [Home(홈)]. On the web, click [‘Claim today’s lucky credits’(오늘의 럭키 크레딧 받기)] in the center of the new chat screen.
  • Lucky credit refresh time: Daily at 9 AM KST (UTC 00:00). This hour applies to lucky credits only. Daily free credits on the free plan run on each user’s own grant time plus 24 hours.
  • Validity: 24 hours after receiving
